70-Year-Old Man Buys A Beat-Up Bus And Converts It Into His Dream Home
Retirement is typically viewed as a time in life for leisure and relaxation. There will be a great deal more free time and no more enduring the daily grind of a 9–5 work.
And the challenge these liberated people now have is what to do with all this extra time off.
The solution was clear to Greg Flint, a 70-year-old retiree: sell the house and construct a new one from an old bus!
He informs the people at SmallerLiving,
I’ve always had a thing for mobile homes. I desired minimalism, economy, and less possessions.
The talented stonemason and artist had planned to restore the bus, affectionately called “Buster,” for a couple he knew.
Unfortunately, as fate would have it, the couple broke up before they could even get to Mexico. They wanted the master builder to fix the bus and make it roadworthy.
Greg bid for the bus, sensing an opportunity was approaching. He was shocked to learn that the ex-couple would not accept the money. Greg remembers,
I had developed an idea for Buster’s makeover since I had fell in love with it. I requested to purchase it, and I was granted it!
With his friends’ approval, Greg started his incredible bus transformation.
You quickly discover the origin of Greg’s moniker, “Papa Smurf,” as you board the bus.
Entering the thirty-foot-long 1965 Chevy bus transports you to a universe that appears to have been created by the Smurfs themselves.
Not only Greg, while he had his work cut out for him, had visions of this awful bus.
Buster already has a few significant changes.
