MY VARDO WAGON!

I’ve taken the plunge and bought another tiny house! This time, it’s a stunning vardo wagon, hand-built by Russ Prior, a craftsman I met at a tiny house festival in 2015.

Russ crafted this beautiful wagon for himself around 2010 but never got to use it. It sat in storage for over a decade until I reached out to him on a whim to see if he’d sell it. Initially surprised, Russ agreed to sell it when I promised to give the wagon the love it deserved. We settled on a price, he delivered the wagon, and now it’s part of my family’s story!

The wagon now resides in my mother-in-law’s backyard, serving as an extra bedroom for guests and a playful retreat for my kids, Juniper (3) and Finch (6 months). I’m also exploring other fun uses for the future.

Over Christmas, we transformed the wagon into Santa’s sleigh and surprised the kids. It was such a hit that we plan to make it a yearly tradition!

Russ meticulously hand-carved the eaves, inspired by Native American serpent designs.

Despite its compact size of just 6′ x 10′, the wagon feels more spacious than our vintage camper, which we sold last year when we found out we were expecting another baby. My husband, Nabil, can actually stand inside, which is a big plus for him. While it may not fit our whole family for overnight stays, it’s perfect for solo trips or special one-on-one nights with the kids.

This vardo wagon is more than just a tiny house—it’s a cherished addition to our family’s adventures!
