Barbra Streisand says she ‘can’t live in this country’ if this happens
Barbra Streisand, an iconic figure in Hollywood, recently stirred controversy with her fervent online defense of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Streisand alleged that conservatives were conspiring to tarnish Willis’s reputation by exploiting her personal life.
In a post on X, the celebrated singer and actress asserted that Willis’s only “crime” was pursuing a private relationship with Nathan Wade, a subordinate prosecutor she appointed in her investigation into former President Trump and 18 co-defendants. They are charged with racketeering in connection to Georgia’s 2020 election results.
“How absurd that Republicans want Fani Willis fired. For what reason? For thinking a woman can’t balance a private life alongside her professional duties? Men do it all the time! How ridiculous is this?” Streisand exclaimed on Monday.
She further elaborated, stating, “Trump and his allies are attacking Fani Willis, the DA prosecuting him for attempting to overturn Georgia’s election results. Her private relationship with one of the prosecutors has no bearing on the case’s facts or Trump’s blatant effort to pressure the Secretary of State to ‘find’ more votes for him and to present false electors to Congress. This is merely another diversion by Trump,” she added.
