Nobody could have predicted how this would end out…

At first, all of the neighbors were certain that he was simply installing a pool. No one expected him to end up with this.

Neighbors looked curiously into Wayne Martin’s yard. They initially assumed that the massive hole he dug would be used for a swimming pool.

However, once Martin’s outlines were apparent, his intention became clear.

People didn’t know what this craftsman was up to. He purchased a low-cost, high-quality shipping container, and Wayne came up with the idea for a perfect underground shelter.

The man intended to use it as the foundation for a multifunctional space, including a great wine cellar.

Here it is—the container that started it all. Martin first installed a conventional door in it.

Wayne made sure the hole’s depth was 60 centimeters greater than the container’s height.

In addition, the man added a 15-centimeter layer of fine gravel underneath.

Martin also took care of the well pump, drilling a specific hole for it.

Next in line were concrete steps, the tops of which were the same height as the container.

Now I-beams come into play. Their purpose was to support the roof.

Wayne stacked sheets of corrugated metal on top of the beams.

Martin reinforced the hole above the entry with rebar and cinder concrete.

After that, he went on to the ventilation device.

After deciding on the infill, Martin applied a 15-centimeter layer of cement to the entire structure.

Wayne removed the makeshift supports once the cement had set.

On top, the man added a layer of rich soil, allowing plants to be planted.

This is what occurred in the end. Surely, many people would like to own such a wine cellar!
