Father Takes Drastic Step: Shaves Daughter’s Head as Consequence for Bullying Cancer Survivor and Removing Wig

In a recently deleted Reddit post, a concerned father revealed a troubling incident involving his daughter who had engaged in bullying behavior towards a fellow student, a cancer survivor who had lost her hair due to treatment. The daughter not only mocked the girl but also went to the extent of removing her wig. Disturbed by his daughter’s lack of remorse, the father felt compelled to intervene and address the situation more directly.

Despite any prior issues between the two girls, including a romantic rivalry over an ex-boyfriend, the father emphasized that such conflicts didn’t justify his daughter’s actions. Expressing his disappointment, he noted that the daughter’s behavior contradicted the values he had instilled in her, as reported by the school’s deputy principal.

Moreover, the daughter exhibited a complete lack of remorse and even justified her actions, claiming the other girl deserved the mistreatment. The father, unwilling to let the incident go without consequences, presented his daughter with two options for punishment.

The first option was for her to dispose of all her electronics, including her phone and computer, with a commitment not to replace them. The second option involved going to a hairdresser and having her entire head shaved. Notably, she would have to attend school without a wig until her hair naturally grew back. Ultimately, the daughter chose the latter option.

The situation took a complicated turn when the teen’s mother, who does not have custody and had moved on with her new family, criticized the father’s decision. She argued that the punishment was excessive and could make the daughter a target for further bullying. However, the father remained steadfast in his belief that the severe consequence was necessary to impart a lesson about empathy and the consequences of hurtful actions.

Despite the criticism, the father expressed no regrets, stating, “I hoped that her going to school bald and walking a mile in the other girl’s shoes would teach her a lesson.” The incident raises questions about the appropriate measures parents should take when addressing bullying behavior and the role of consequences in fostering empathy and understanding.
